Xabi Alonso to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season

Xabi Alonso will leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season, as his reports will replace Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Last year, Alonso, 43, took Leverkusen to two Bundesliga titles – Without losing a game – and the Bundesliga in his first season as the club’s top manager.

The former Spanish player played for Real Madrid between 2009 and 2014, five years after the Liverpool penalty penalty kick, before he ended Bayern Munich’s 2017 game.

“This week and I have agreed that these two games will be my last game as Bayer Leverkuses coach,” Alonso said on Friday.

“It’s not a moment to talk a lot about the future, because we want to say goodbye to some players on Sunday for some players, for myself, and it’s the right moment to announce it.

“We must enjoy this moment with a mixed feeling. It’s emotional. This morning I spoke with the players, staff, many people who helped me during an incredible three years.

“Now is a moment to play with fans at this stadium where I have lived a great feeling and I will be what I am now.
