Defenders Terna Davidsson will miss the next women’s next women’s national team with a knee injury, the US footballer said Monday.
Angele City striker Jessell Tompson has been replaced by Angele City’s player.
Davidsson, the 2019 World Cup winner and winner of the 2024 Olympic Golden Medal, wounded his left knee in an inclusive game while playing for NJ/Ny Gotham FC in a draw against Houston Dash on Friday.
He was obviously sad and left the stadium with help before going to the dressing room before the first half.
Gotham FC has given no further details about the level of injury. A spokesman for the team told ESPN that the club will submit more updates soon.
“Terna is a warrior, our captain. It’s destructive to see how he came out of the pitch, but then seeing it on the pitch at the end of the game, and it was a message to the team how strong,” he said after Friday’s game.
“I know whatever it is, we will be with him, we will support him. He is in his hands safe. We have a imaginary medical team, and I hope the injury is the least that he can because he was excellent for us and his country.
“Tempson, 19, was initially supposed to be available for the Under-23 WNT training camp in the United States this week with a US WNT training camp in Dignity Health Parks in California, but with the improvement of 19-year-old players,” USSF said in a statement Monday.
Davidsson tore ACL in March 2022, he returned to the pitch in early 2023 but missed the 2023 World Cup in 2023, when he continued to take back the form.
The USWNT will leave without both key players from the Olympics when the team is willing to face Brazil on Saturday and again next week in a repeated Olympics in August.
The Americans won the game 1-0 and won the fifth Olympic gold medal.
