St. Johnston: Why do they find themselves in the Premier League pickles?

For many decades, St. Johnston was replaced by Joff Brown’s ownership.

Davidson says the businessman and Steve’s son, who replaced his father as president, were “increditive for me and for St. Johnston.

He suggests that “had had 13, 14, 15 players” and only need to add three or four in each season to ensure continuity.

“They weren’t the biggest club. We didn’t decide to get the ball and play with 30 passes, but everyone bought it to succeed and what it means to the people,” Davidsson said.

“Toward the end of my sporting life, it didn’t happen. You were going inside, there were two or three left.

After the announcement of the club in December 2022, it was until the summer of 2024 when the US businessman Adam Web took the position from Joff Brown.

There has been an uncertain stage between them in 18 months – and uncertainty rarely creates a suitable environment for success.

“The last eight, nine, 10 windows, they have to buy fear and anxiety,” Davidson said.

Now St. Johnstoon’s fan and watches him, the club’s legend hopes to be able to return to stability and success of the past.

With its owners to some extent new in control of the game, and with a manager who wants to play the right path, the future can still be bright for MacDAirmed Park.

But much may depend on whether Valakari and his players can produce a Houthin Premier League survival act in the coming weeks.
