“I’m very happy right now,” he said. “It hasn’t been good at all this season. One of us players doesn’t care about it now,” he said.
“The team hasn’t won a trophy for 17 years and has so much meaning,” he said.
“All the fans beat them, we are beaten because of not taking a trophy. We had to get the first. I’m very happy. Since I came here, ‘Tottenham, a good team but we can’t work on it’, but we finished.
His discovery at the 17th place in the Premier League was not what Johnson expected when he joined the American Spurs from Nottingham Fort for more than £45m in the summer of 2023.
While his old club was one of the stories of the season, playing for a Champions League place, his current employers and president Eng Postkoglo have been funded by their sad domestic campaigns.
But Johnson, who also scored in the semi-finals of the Europa League Spurs, said he and his team-mates owed him to Postkoglo with thanks for “ouring confidence in us” during a successful European campaign that violated their competition in the Premier League.
“He has done his job,” Johnson said. “He said he would win in the second year and if there was never time to get off, it’s now (when he talks to the media).
“I can’t thank the manager for how much he trusts us, and there is really a good way to make us.
“Tottenham Hotspar is 17th in the Premier League and it’s not just good. We had an incredible game in the Europa League. The fans were so good, they were at home and outside, and they were United’s leaders.
