The referee’s decisions will be broadcast for the first time in Bristol Berz on Saturday on a general address system.
The trial – where fans can listen to the reasons behind the decisions between referees and television officials – in the selected games in the league will feature in the Premier League final at the Allianz Stadium in Toykham on June
A similar test was conducted in 2021 during the Right-wing Cup in the Premier League and was used in a Glosster and the Madegysky Stadium at Irish in Kingsholm.
The referee’s microphone is already aired during international matches, including six autumn nations.
“The ability to listen to the referee’s decisions has clearly explained that the PA system has added to the stadium’s experience for fans during the autumn and six nations and we are investigating more opportunities throughout the league,” said Rob Calder.
Carl Dixon will be the referee for Saturday’s game, which begins at 17:30 pm World time in Ashton Gate.
Bristol’s chief executive Tom Tynton says one of the “main goals” is that the game “avail more with new fans.
“This invention is not only an increase in the experience of the game, but also helps to warn and educate fans on the stadium,” the Spaniard said.
Microphones were used for the first time in the first month of last year in a Premier League match between Bristol and Bath, which was broadcast on television coverage.
The referees also started wearing cameras at the same time, to show more closeness to the game’s actions with those who watch it at home.
