Crime police clash with protesters in Istanbul on Saturday night

Protests for a fourth night in Istanbul over the arrest of the mayor of the city, which is part of the largest protests that Turkey has seen in more than ten years.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s rival Ekem Imamuglu was arrested on Wednesday days before being elected as the 2028 presidential candidate.

Imamus appeared in a court in Istanbul on Saturday after being arrested on charges of corruption and aiding terrorist groups. He has denied the charges.

In a speech on Saturday, Erdogan reiterated the unrest and accused the Republican opposition of the Imamoglu of trying to “disrupt peace and polarization of our people.

Outside the mayor’s office in Istanbul, tear gas has been hanged in the air before the demonstrations began properly.

As crowds grow throughout the evening, it was difficult to breathe when he was shot after the course to spread the demonstrators.

According to “rights, law, justice”, people at all ages violated the ban on the government at meetings to protest against what they consider illegal arrests.

A young woman wearing a black dress wearing a facial mask told the BBC that she was not protesting for political reasons or because she supported the opposition, but instead defended democracy.

“I’m here for justice, I’m here for freedom. We are free people and the Turkish people cannot accept this. This is against our behavior and culture.

Another woman, who had brought her 11-year-old son to the demonstrations, said he wanted to bring him as he was worried about his future.

“The number of life in Turkey is getting more difficult day by day. We cannot control our lives. We cannot choose who we want and there is no real justice here,” he said.

He talks a lot that no one who has spoken to the BBC has felt comfortable to give his name or show his face.

Many streets are bravely arrested on Saturday night, telling the BBC that they are outside and are fighting for a future they believe.

Over the past four nights, thousands of nights have taken to the streets in peaceful demonstrations.

Authorities tried to drown street demonstrations by a four-day ban on all Istanbul meetings extended to Ankara and Izmir as protests spread across the country.

The riot police have been hit by several times since Thursday and it can be seen that peppers and water cannons have blown up against crowds.

Turkish authorities say 343 people were arrested on Friday night, the third day of protests across the country.

Imamoglu is seen as one of Erdogan’s terrible political rivals. The only person to run for the CHP presidential candidates is scheduled for Sunday.

But on Wednesday it was one of more than 100 people, including politicians, journalists and other businessmen, who was arrested as part of a investigation.

The day before his arrest, Istanbul University announced that he would cancel his imam-glu’s degree due to irregularities that are supposedly a measure that, if implemented, suspicious of his ability as president.

According to the Turkish constitution, the presidents must have completed higher education to get their post.

Erdogan has held his post over the past 22 years, as prime minister and president. However, due to limiting the term of office, he cannot run for the post in 2028, unless the constitution does not change.

Opposition figures say the arrests are politically motivated. But the Justice Ministry has criticized those who link Erdogan to the reverses, and insist on their judicial independence.
