Pope Francis is recovering from pneumonia and a “new stage” will be opened in his pope, two of his closest advisers on Friday said he gave optimism because the 88-year-old was ranked five weeks in hospital.
The main priest Edgar Pena Para told the Associated Press that she had found Francis a good joke during her three visits to the pope at the Jemeli hospital in Rome.
Pena Para, head of the Vatican Staff, visited Francis on February 24 and March 2 with Vatican Foreign Minister Cardinal Petro Parolin, Lon Vatican officials who have asked her personal secretary.
“Papa is recovering,” Pana Para said on the sidelines of a book. “Papal gets well. Doctors say they need some time, but they are well faced.
“I found it well, calm, in a good joke, and – like it – it’s hard to move forward,” he said.
The Vatican press office said on Friday that Francis’ general situation remained stable, as well as continuing to continue in the treatment of respiratory and physical physiotherapy. He continued to reduce his relying on high supplements that need to be breathed during the day and no longer need mechanical ventilation masks at night.
In other comments on Friday, another key friend and ally of Pope, Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, announced that a “new stage” would be opened with the 12-year-old Francis and awaiting some surprises from the Pope when he was released.
Fernandez, the Argentine’s theology he brought as the Vatican’s leader, said he had been in contact with Francis since the February 14 hospital and was happy that he was stable. He did not offer any temporary framework when Francis may be released, but he rejected any thought that may resign.
“I understand that Francis will respond well, but doctors will keep it at the hospital. He said Francis needed a solution to help retrieve the force to speak after weeks of invaded mechanical ventilation and supplement oxygen, he said.
Fernandez revealed that Francis was resisting to hospital when the inflammation of the airways had worsened, and had only agreed to go after people close to him threatened to leave if he had not done it.
“I don’t know what an oath they have used (to tell him) you have to go there, otherwise we will go home and end our relationship here,” he said.
As a result, he said he knew that his hospitalization was difficult for Francis and that he had certainly made him think.
“I think a new stage will be opened for him. He is a surprising man who has certainly learned a lot this month and will attract him. “So even know that this was a very difficult attempt for him, it’s a difficult time, I know it’s for the church and for the world.
Francis scored 20,000 goals at his hospital on Friday. On February 14, it was admitted to a bad condition of the inflammation of the airways that developed and became a complexity of lung infections and two inflammation of the pneumonia. He has long fought in respiratory diseases and removed part of his lungs when he was young. He admits that he was a bad patient and a well-known person.
“He wants to spend the time he has left short and says ‘I want to use it and not take care of myself’,” Fernandez said. “and what happens then? He comes back here and is not easy for him to follow the advice of doctors.
He said it could change after this experience.
“It must change, but I can’t say what the details may be,” he said.
