
Para Powerlefter Zoy Newson, who has been a three-time parallel medal, has retired from the sport.
Newsson, who retired on his 33rd birthday, represents Britain in four parallet games.
In 2012, he won a bronze medal in London in the first Paralympic match in London, in the 40 kg competition.
In 2016, Newsson won another bronze in the 45kg race and claimed Silver in his last Paralympic match in Paris last year with his 109-kilogram raising 109 kg.
“I’ve made the most difficult decision to retire from Powerlifting,” Newsson said in X magazine.
“I just think it’s time to retire.
“Thank you everyone for your support. Goodbye Powerlifting.
Newsson has two medals in both Commonwealth and World Championships.
