
Liverpool are close to agreeing on a new deal with striker Mohamed Salah.
Negotiations between all parties continue and no final agreement has yet been reached, but sources have said the club have made positive progress in their efforts and hope a deal will be reached.
Salah’s contract expires at the end of the season and some uncertainty about his future, clubs in Saudi Arabia are interested in international Egypt.
But the recent progress has raised hopes in Anfield that Salah will extend his stay at the Premier League.
Salah is a key player for Liverpool since he arrived in the summer of 2017 and has been at the team’s title this season, scoring 32 goals in all competitions.
Earlier this week, Captain Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires in the summer, offered a positive renewal on his contract.
“There are progress, yes,” the defender said.
“This is an internal conversation and we see it. I love the club, I love the fans and they were there for us (in Fulham).
But he is less confident of the future of Trent Alexander Arnold, but in talks with Real Madrid before next season in a free transfer to Spain.
