Mark Kanham: FAI announces the exit of the head of football

Mark Canham, head of football, has left his role with the Irish Football Federation.

The English has been in office with FAI since June 2022 and will remain in office to facilitate the extradition with the process to find an immediate replacement.

The 42-year-old has announced that he is going to “expulsion of new personal and professional opportunities in the UK.

“After being very considered, I have decided to leave the group and return to England,” Kanham said.

“This decision was not an easy decision for him, but I think the time is right to search for new personal and professional opportunities for me and my family.

Kanham was a key figure in the development of the FAI’s track plan, a document aimed at presenting the future of the game in the Republic of Ireland, the long-term process to replace Stephen Kenny, president of the top men’s team.

“While we are sad when we see Mark left, we fully respect his decision, and I sincerely thank you for volunteering and hard work with us throughout his time,” said Paul Cook, Chairman Paul Cook.

“The leadership, hard work and hard work in advancing the football route plan, has a strong basis for the future of Ireland football that we all need to do now.
