Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva: FA Cup wins

Bernardo Silva has said he believes even winning the FA Cup will not be back in Manchester City.

City secured the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday after beating Bournemouth 2-1 In an event full of events at the Vitalite Stadium, the hosts advanced through Evanlisson, after Erling Holland missed a penalty in the first half.

The Norwegian international amended the game after the break, but was forced to walk around the clock with a hamstring injury. His replacement, Omar Marmosh, scored a few moments after coming to the Wembley Stadium against Nottingam Forest.

The FA Cup still remains the only chance of winning silver. They face early knockout in the Carabao and Champions League, finishing fifth in the Premier League, 22 behind leaders Liverpool.

When asked by ESPN on Sunday that the FA Cup wins the season into a successful victory, Silva said: No, our standards are much higher than that.

“So of course we’ll be happy (with winning the FA Cup) but it doesn’t improve the season.

The City of City was held at the end of 2024, when they left all competitions with five consecutive defeats. Their last game of the year –, which beat Leicester City 2-0 — was the first win in 14 games.

City’s form was better in the transformation of the year with new contracts such as Omar Marmush, Niko Gonzalez and Abdukuder Khosnov, who all starred in The Vitality on Sunday.

When asked whether their additions helped the squad to return to all strength, Silva said: “Unfortunately, we had all the wounds, all the problems in the structure, which was of no use. But yes, there is no excuse yet.

“We have the bad months we have. We don’t make excuses. We had to do that much better. And from now on, what we can control is our shows, and today it was a good show for the team.
