Los Angeles Lakers lost 12 games in 12 games on Thursday after taking 115-110 leading Chicago Bulls and 12.1 seconds left, and allowed Josh Gidi to win a half-half kick before the final.
Something had to change immediately. Coach JJ Redic has decided to hold a meeting with LeBron James, Luka Doncich and Ostin Reeves, just hours before the team’s game against Memphis Grislly on Saturday.
The result was a 134-127 win in his best attacking game after Donc was named Laiker last month.
Redic revealed some of the things discussed at this meeting.
Through ESPN:
“We challenged all three of them when we arrived at the three-person work that they played with with a little more, more and a little more motivation and a little innovation,” Redic said.
In Saturday’s game, the three stars became the first three NBA players, each scoring at least 25 points, five penalties and five assists, while two points in the same game. As a team, Lakers scored 50.6% on the pitch and 44.2% from three points from three points, while 30 assists in 45 baskets.
It was the third time that Likers had reached 130 points since Donci had joined them, but this time they were at 12th in the table, sixth in the pitch.
Los Angeles has a 45-29 record with fourth place in the Western Conference, finishing fifth in Grisley. After the second-placed Houston Rockates, a team that will play next Monday in three games.
