Jackie Bernzi: Calgari has come for Northern Ireland goalkeeper

Berns, who played in the United States, Iceland and Sweden, says the international task is like a fun preoccupation after a week’s preparations.

He admits that he has been in the cards for a while so he has survived to walk on the line.

“The past week and a half was accustomed to the fact that it was actually happening. I prepared my thinking for that and it’s difficult because I had to prepare myself for Bristol but also gather things for the next move, processing papers and jumping in the camp.

Burns will join his new team on April 16 after the international holiday and explained that he had previously played for Canada earlier, but the transfer was not achieved.

“I haven’t had a long time to think about it. Going to Canada to start again and see what I can get from there,” he said.

“The idea was recommended to me, but I didn’t know how to feel it. It’s a new course and a new team.

“He came at one point and didn’t exercise, he came back again and I couldn’t deny.

Northern Ireland coach Tanya Okstob was also very important in convincing that it was a rational step for international sporting life.

“He was one of the first people in which I was in contact, international things really became a large part of this, but it was a case what benefits me to help this team (northern Ireland) more.

“If it’s something that can give you a life experience, you have to take it.
