Ireland Director Carla Ward has revealed that she has rejected an offer to manage a Super League Super League “a few weeks ago” and reaffirmed her full commitment to its current role.
Ward replaced Ellen Glisson in January as a Republican director and is still at the top of the four national league and three wins and 4-0 defeat to Slovenia.
But the main focus for the 41-year-old, qualifying for the 2027 World Cup, which begins in February.
Sheffield United, Birmingham City and Aston Villa were previously in his homeland, but resigned a year like Villa Boss.
“I’m telling you something. A few weeks ago, I was offered WSL and refused because I love what I’m doing,” Ward said after naming the squad for the next UN League against Turkey and Slovenia.
“Listen, I really wanted the work of Ireland. I rejected two other countries that I did while I was in the process of the interview for Ireland because I wanted to run this country with my heart and soul.
“I’m talking to the board in the long run, not only around the next two games, but how we develop the Irish league – we have talked a lot about it – so there is a bigger picture here.
