The club said in a statement that Morton “works” FIFA “to solve an administrative mistake that would ban the club from being banning the club,” the club said in a statement.
“After the club’s requests earlier this year to obtain the access to FIFA to provide information as part of our compliance, the club has not received the access that is necessary to complete the relevant process and then the ban was issued because the documents were not submitted on time.
“Over the past few weeks, the club has been in a close conversation with FIFA counterparts and they have been given an explanation that the issue will be resolved by mid-May after receiving the necessary documents and a clear temporary criterion when necessary to approve the documents,” he said.
“This doesn’t affect the summer transfer window plans because new players can’t be registered until June, when the next transfer window is opened.
This also doesn’t affect our ability to renew the players’ contracts that are previously at the club, whose contracts expire this summer.
