The Everton Football Club has strongly condemned the threatening, racist and feminic rape, which he addressed to his wife, Dominic Calvert-Lein, on social media.
“This terrible behavior is not only painful and sad, but also guilty – and does not represent the values of Everton or the vast majority of our supporters.
Barcelona midfielder says the club has zero tolerance policy towards all kinds of discrimination and violence. We are working closely with the Mercedes and the Premier League police to make sure those responsible will be identified and questioned for their work.
“Threats or misuse in any way – whether online or personally – is not fully accepted and has no place in our game or in society.
“We will continue to provide full support for Dominics and his family.
“We are aware of the racist and threatening social media statements directed at the wife of Dominique Calvert-Lein’s wife,” Mercedes police said.
“Sending such ugly messages to anyone online is terrible and we are working with Everton as part of our initial research.
“We take these reports very seriously and would like to remind us of social media users that any belief he can not know is not online to commit crimes.
“The crimes committed online can be investigated, which is a threat and abuse of racism, and will be investigated.
