Dean Lewington: The veteran defender admits that retirement is a little scary’

Den Lewington once admitted that he was a football dinosaur.

In the autumn of 2022, he said: “At your age, especially as modern football is going, the age of more than 30 years is seen as before history.

Now more than a month left for his 41st birthday, he was finally addicted to MK Dons defender, who retires at the end of the season.

Only Peter Shielton, Tony Ford, Graham Alexander and Terry Pene have played more than Lewington.

“It’s a completely surreal feeling. Previously, ‘prison’ is just a word, a good voice and then I realized that I couldn’t play football (anything else), which is a little terrible now that it came on.

“Now may have been in my mind for two years and it’s just a right time.

“I was in a team of six players in Sunday, in an academy at 8 o’clock. I’m now 41 years old, so I’m playing for three quarters of my life,” he said.

“My whole life will change and that part will end.
