While their financial expenses have been interesting, goalkeeper Ryan Al-Sop – ‘blueen’, a whole of Birmingham’s birthday – says the club’s achievements are as much as they are in their ethics.

The 32-year-old, who worked in 14 different places, joined his hometown last summer in support of Bayel Picok-Farell.

But in October, it took the main location and has not looked back since then, leaving 21 cleanliness in 37 appearances.

“We have always gone out and left everything on the pitch. Credit for all those who participate – that’s great, a great legacy and something we can remember forever.

“There is still another game left to go and we are waiting for that, but it is a phenomenal attempt by the boys, the staff and all those who participated.

“But for what we have achieved this year, it’s something that will stay with me forever – so that we can help these clubs go back to where we belong to us and push it.

“Obviously we want more and more. This is the first step to be part of it.
