Bristol City: The biggest cities without Premier League team

London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Bristols?

Despite being the eighth city in England, Bristol has never hosted the Premier League football – but that could be changing.

After reaching the qualification of the tournament, two legs against Sheffield United and the possibility of the final against Coventre or Sunderland in Wembley are the only thing that stood between Robbins and the starting line-up.

Bristol City descended from the first division – first before the introduction of the Premier League – in 1979-80 and 25 last season and tried to return to the top table.

The closest thing they came was in 2007-2008, but Halal proved very strong in the final of the tournament in the final.

After 10 consecutive seasons, is Bristol City ready to end their exile?

Bristol Rovers have played third or less after the first round of 1992-9

By estimated to have a population of about 480,000, Bristol is unlikely to be the largest English city that has never had a Premier League team.

The BBC Sport watches some of the cities that have hosted the league but have still enjoyed the Premier League.
