
Chsholm, a founder and partner of the California-based capital company, is a native of Boston and a fan of Celtics’ life, who won 18th NBA last year when they beat Dallas Maverics.
“I have grown up in the northern coast and college education in New England. I have encouraged Celtics throughout my life,” he said.
“I understand how important Celtic is to Boston – the role played by the team in society is different from any other city in the country.
“I also understand that there is a responsibility as a leader of the organization towards the people of Boston, and I am for this challenge.
WYC GROUSBEC and the current ownership group bought Celtics for $360 million in 2002.
Grosbeck is expected to remain as the president and governor until the end of the 2027-28 season, before Cheshlem takes control of the team’s job.
