Aston Villa coach Unai Emery says his players must look at the club’s history in the Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain as a chance to write themselves in the club’s history.

Villa, who won the European Cup in 1982, lost 3-1 in the first leg of the quarter-finals last week.

Imre admitted that the club would be “managed” at Villa Park on Tuesday “moving and tactics.

But the Spaniard also said his players must “believe” that they can abolish a two-goal deficit and advance to the semi-finals.

“I have experience when I’m going back, in a positive and negative manner, in two ways. But now it’s different,” he said.

“We want to write history with Aston Villa here. Last year, in the conference (when they lost their last four games), and this year in the Champions League, and we hope for a long time in Europe.

The 53-year-old has lost only one of his 13 games in the European Championship, which has made 11 appearances.

The Villa is also in a 17-game home game at home in all competitions that date back to November

Emery hopes to mate Markus Rashford and Oli Watkins in the future, but he said the game against Paris Saint-Germain may not be the right time to stabilize them together.

Rashford and Watkins have played together in seven games with the most time they spent the two players in 82 minutes at the 2-0 win over Cardiff City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

“The next step – if I have time – is to play with them together,” he added.

“We played with Rashford on the left, but now we are selecting more with both games as strikers. That’s the next step. I want to practice, I want to try it, but not now, with the right time.
