Arsenal knows what differences it can make a week.
Seven days ago, Renne Sleigs’s side took place away from Lyon’s 18-year-old Champions League final.
Forward for Monday and Arsenal are thoroughly investigating how Aston Villa and Brighton lost 5-2 and 4-2 in the Premier League games.
While defeat in Villa Park was unexpected, it may have been somewhat understood.
Sleigers made seven changes to the team that beat Lyon and the result was a shaky and incompatible performance.
The question is, the party that collapsed against Brighton was similar to the party that occupied one of the biggest teams in Europe.
“We wanted to go back and bring back that game, and the same has happened to us again,” Kaitlin Ford told Sky Sports.
“That’s not just good in every minute and we need to look at ourselves individually and as a team. We can’t let it happen again at the end of the week.
While Fran Kerby and Celena Kankovic both scored an amazing attack on the visitors, Brighton’s third and fourth goals came directly from the defenders.
Arsenal have scored nine goals in their last two WSL games after scoring 14 in their previous 19 appearances.
Brighton goalkeeper Sophie Baggali forced them to save 10, but they couldn’t repair themselves.
“In the last two WSL finals, we scored nine goals and we said we believe it should not be accepted as a team,” he said.
“Of course we don’t want this to happen. There are different reasons. Villa games were different. We came from something else and the goals that have been recognized were different.
“We must learn two very difficult lessons that come from a great success. We must learn. That’s part of becoming a major team.
