England assistant coach Arjan Viurin is set to leave his role at the end of this summer’s European Championship and become president of the Dutch women’s team.

The 38-year-old has been working with Dutch citizen Sarina Wighman since 2017, when they led the country to win the European Championship, and left with him in 2021, when he took over the England coach.

Under their guidelines, the lions won in 2022 and reached the World Cup final the next year.

England will face the Netherlands in Switzerland on Wednesday at the Euro 2012 group stage in Switzerland.

“This isn’t just a big challenge and a great new adventure, but I feel a logical step for my future,” said Viorin, who takes office at Anders Jonger until 2029.

“I have never created a secret of the fact that I once wanted to be the person who is in charge of the Dutch national team.

“The fact that this opportunity is happening in the Netherlands will make it more features. Now I will do my best to end the coming months in England in some way.

“Arjan continues to become a valuable and respected member of the Sarina team and pays full attention to the current women’s national league campaign and this summer.
