A judge told a white couple:
A white couple in West Virginia has been sentenced to hundreds of years in prison after being convicted of forcing black children to work as slaves on their farm.
Jean Kai White, 63, and Donald Lanz, 62, have raised five children aged 6 to 16 in a homeless shelter. Prosecutors say the couple targeted their children, especially their children, because of their gender before they suffer years of scary torture. The children were forced to do hard work, deprive them of basic necessities and treat them as “slaves”.
The rape took place in October 2023, after a concerned neighbor contacted children’s protection services. When the deputies arrived at the couple’s house in Sisonville, they found two of the 14- and 16-year-old children, locked in a palace that had a large toilet with no water spilled. The children told the authorities that they had been locked from inside for 12 hours and were forced to sleep on the cold floor.
The court documents described their children as dirty clothes and the 14-year-old boy had his wounds on his feet. A nine-year-old boy was locked alone at home, then Lantz returned home with an 11-year-old boy and brought his deputies to a six-year-old girl who stayed with her family friends. Accusing the 16 numbers of White Fider and Lantz of human trafficking, forced labor and violation of children’s civil rights. Although the couple confessed to the crime, they were convicted in January.
“You have brought these children to West Virginia, a place I call ‘near heaven’, and you will put them in hell,” the eighth judicial judge said during his sentence. “This court will put you in yourself now. And God may have mercy on your soul because this court will not be.
Lantz was sentenced to 160 years in prison for human trafficking, forced labor, rape and neglect. White Finder, 215 years after being convicted of the same charges, for excessive conviction of violations of children’s civil rights. The couple also decided to pay $280,000 in compensation to any victim.
“I just want the court to know that I made a mistake. I regret it, and I love my children. I have never done anything to my children for deliberately. Children, I love you,” according to NBC.
The children, who are now describing their former parents as “a monsters”, are looking forward to a brighter future.
“I’ll be surprising,” one of the children said, according to the news agency. “I’ll be strong and beautiful. You’re always completely what you’re – scary.
