Six women’s nations: Ireland wants to be more than ‘ High losers’

Ireland, who beat New Zealand champions Vancouver last year, went down 14-0 after 18 minutes before returning to the game, believing they could win with more “peaceful thinking” than the main areas.

“We had some experiences, as we were able to return at the end of New Zealand at WXV1, but they came out here against this floor-one-nation and World Cup candidates, we thought it would come down to the last 20 minutes.

“You have to have that peace, not a true belief, just the peace of thinking that you can be on the pitch, how you get there, then you will take those opportunities.

Ireland will travel to Italy in the second round of six countries next weekend, but this year it can meet France again.

At the World Cup in England, the winner of Ireland will be second in the quarter-finals of France and vice versa.

“With the World Cup on the horizon, this is very good that can be the last quarter,” he added.

“We told the group that we want to reach the World Cup and see if we see it with France again, we can beat them.

“Obviously, it didn’t go our way today, but I think we can beat them again.
