
Luka Modric has confirmed that he will leave Real Madrid this summer.
The Croatian midfielder had discussed short-term renewal, but has now chosen to leave without any agreement.
The 39-year-old joined Madrid from Tottenham in August 2012 and has been a key player in his recent victory, winning four La Liga titles and six Champions League champions.

“It’s time to come. The moment I never wanted to come, but it’s football. Everything has the beginning and an end in life. I’ll play my last game at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday,” Modric wrote in a letter to Madrid fans on Instagram.
“In 2012, I arrived there with the desire to wear his shirt in the world and greed for doing big things, but I couldn’t imagine what he came after,” he said.

“I want to thank the club from my heart, especially President Florentino Perez, his team-mates, coaches and all those who have helped me during this time,” he said.
“Throughout these years I have experienced incredible moments, they have returned, which seemed impossible, the end, the magical celebrations and nights at Bernabeu. We won everything and I was very happy. He was very happy.
“But outside the titles and successes, I bear the love of all the fans of Madrid in my heart. I really don’t know how to have the special relationship with you and how I supported it.

Modric’s final comes on Saturday when Madrid host Real Sociedad.
Then it will be part of the squad that will travel to the United States at the club.
