In 2015, Tuchel began his upcoming challenge and replaced Klopp, who was heading for Liverpool as president of Borussia Dortmund.
In the seven years of Klopp at Dortmund, he had won twice in the Premier League and reached the Champions League final.
Former Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has reminded him: “I didn’t expect much to be very honest when it was announced that he would be a new coach. I’m even in the conversations I might leave the club.
“I had a phone call with him and he offered me himself when I was on vacation during the summer holidays, in fact, it was really a good relationship.
“He tried to explain a few things, how he wanted to play, how he wanted to train and prove everything he said that season,” he said.
Gundogan joined Manchester City after Dortmund finished second at the end of the 2015-2016 season, while Tuchel won his first major trophy and beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 in the Bundesliga final in May
But former German international Gundogan won completely in their only season of togetherness by Tuchel.
“I can only say positive things about him since we were in Dortmund,” he said. “He’s honest and open in terms of tactical and extremely. Personally, I’m very good to him.
Hitzelsperger felt that the man’s managing will be the key to success with England, adding: “Tuchiel players who have worked with him in the past are very positive about him, and how to convey his ideas to them.
“I don’t think the German is different. Most England players work under foreign managers or they have done. He is a senior manager who is open to his ideas and is used to most of them, so it must be a soft transfer.
“The person who likes to improve people. As the coach, you must be analyzed and smart. He is a comedy and has a good joke. It is a very special joke and if you know the joke, it can be funny,” she said.
