Jason Kid has joined the Everton ownership group from NBA.
The Olympic championship and 10 OLA NBA are currently coach of Dallas Maveriks, who has joined Rondhouse Capital Holdings, part of the Friedkin Group.
The Texas-based group completed Everton’s seizure in December
Kid, who also won the 2011 NBA tournament as a player with Maverix, will be the latest senior American player to invest in British football.
The fourteen Premier League clubs are owned by US investors, while the previous NFL JJ Watt defence has a new minority in Burnley, and Tom Brady Coarterback is also a legendary quarter with the winner of the first round of Birmingham City.
Everton will leave Goudison Park at the end of the season and move to their new Stadium at the Bramly-Moor Dock, which cost more than £750m before the 2025-26 season.
“I’m proud to join Everton at such an important moment – with a new stadium on the horizon and a bright future ahead of it, it’s a very good moment to go into the ship,” said Kid, 52, said.
Everton CEO Mark Watts added: “As one of the greatest players of the NBA and now a successful coach, information and mentality will be an incredible source for Everton.
“He is a respected and home leader for many sports fans and brings a deeper understanding of high levels while we are collectingly trying to create a brighter future for this club.
