Harry Maguire has described Manchester United’s 5-4 win over Lyon as the strangest game in football.
The game at Old Trafford – which prevented United for the semi-finals of the Europa League 7-6 with a total – even the main midfielder and the striker’s striker were surprised.
The England scored the decisive goal in the 120th minute, one of the two goals scored by United in the final minute.
“It was an incredible feeling that the winner was scored in such an important game, in a game full of feelings, strangest and crazy games I have ever played or witnessed,” he said.
The game came into the record for another reason – it was the first European game to contain five goals in extra time.
United in Old Trafford took premature control with Manuel Ugart and Diego Dallot, who had made a 2-0 comfortable progress in the vacation.
But Lyon attacked the attacks, Correntin Tolisso reduced the deficit and Nicolas Tagliafico raised his level soon. A red card for Tolisso seemed to move the game in favor of United, but it was the French club he attacked in the future.

Ryan Cherky put Lyon as a total of extra time and Alexander Lacazette added another to the penalty spot.
“I think they (loys) thought they had succeeded, as they celebrated,” Maguire said. “That’s more of a fan to change the game,” he said.
“I’ve been here for six years and I’ve had a few great times and some bad times. I think that game has shortened my time at this club very well, if I am honest.
“While the return of the game was interesting, but United must be intensified if they want to lift the trophy,” Maguire said.
“I think the worst feeling was that we felt we were throwing it out, not at that moment, we lost the game, and how we could get to that situation,” he admitted. “Because even entering an extra time of 2-2, great force has returned to us with the sending, we must not end that situation.
“We have to do much better if we want to win this contest – we can’t do that and leave it to tell it in that situation.
