Chelsea president Inzu Mareska has supported Rise James’s criticism of his team-mates, saying he is “aby” the kind of leadership he wants to see from the Blues captain.
James, 25, criticized Chelsea’s “Adai Hazhar” for Legia Warsaw’s 2-1 defeat to Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
Although the Blues advanced 4-2 to the Europa Conference, but James said the club had “disrespected” the race with their show.
Asked whether James showed his leadership’s characteristics with his statements, Maresca said: “At no way, absolutely, yes. He is responsible for that, he is one of the captains.
“I think he may have been right in part, because of the first result, we tried to manage the game in a mistake.
“He seems to be right in his words. He takes us into the change room.
Earlier this season, Maresca criticized James’ leadership, saying he had “expected more” from the right-wing defender as captain.
“I complained a little bit in terms of leadership,” Maresca said.
“But my goal was only this one, to try to get more from it. And now he has a good leadership level.
