Sources told ESPN on Friday that North Western is in a deep discussion on a new deal for men’s basketball coach Chris Collins, which gives him extra years, will provide more resources to the staff and the program.
Sources said the new deal is expected to meet in the coming weeks.
Collins has joined Vilanova president in recent weeks, taking into account his victory at North Western and his relationship with Philadelphia through his father, who played and later coached Philadelphia 76ers.
Since 2013, Collins has been the president of North Western, the leader of Wildkas, for their first game in the 2017 NCAA and the guidance of the NCAA to the 2023 and 2024 tournament.
Nors Western played 10-3 this season but played a big Big Ten with a hamstring injury, ending 17-16 and 7-13 in the league.
Collins has been with Wildkas 194-90 in 12 seasons.
Before taking office at North Western, he was the assistant coach in Duck — where the ball of the college played — under Mike Crisevsky for 13 years.
