Mohamed Salah has signed a two-year deal with Liverpool.
The Egyptian striker’s previous deal was supposed to expire in the summer and doubted he would stay.
This comes after the 32-year-old’s comments this season, as well as the talks associated with a move to Saudi Arabia.
But now he will have a chance to add 243 goals and 109 assists in 394 appearances.
“Of course I’m very excited – now we have a big team,” Salah said.
“Before we had a big team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win the other cups and enjoy my football.
“I’ve played here for eight years. I hope it’s 10 years. I enjoy my life here, I enjoy football,” he said. I have had the best years of sports life here.
Salah has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season, including 27 in the Premier League, while the Reds will follow his 20th flying title.
The average scorer in 90 minutes (1.44) in the Premier League this season – the most of each player in one season.
Liverpool are 11 points clear of second-placed arsenal with seven games left.
Salah, who joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017, has won the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup, the FIFA Cup and the FIFA.
He was one of Liverpool’s three key players he didn’t sign this summer, along with Trent Alexander Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.
Dutch defender Van Dijk says he has made progress in a new deal, but Alexander Arnold has joined Real Madrid.
Salah’s previous contract, worth more than £350,000 a week, understood that he had the highest salary in the club’s history.
He believes the negotiations on his new deal did not include a salary cut.
