Sources told CBS Sport that Maryland Sports Director Daimon Evans is hiring SMU to serve in the same position.
Evans replaces Rick Hart, who helped SMU instructions into ACC last year. Evans has been in Maryland since 2014 and has been working as a school route since
SMU recently rented J. Hartzelli in Texas to become his new president. Hartzel appears to have fled Texas sporting director Chris del Conte, who kept the rumors in February.
The time SMU Evans is established is especially interesting to Maryland, as predictions continue to circulate around Vilanova’s attention to basketball coach at Terpins Kevin Williard. Maryland instructed the end of the regular season in the Big Ten and fourth in the NCAA.
Terps is scheduled to play Grand Canon 13 on Friday afternoon. Williard has spent 12 seasons in the Greater East in the Setton Hall, sources have suggested that he still has a strong relationship with the conference.
In his words before the first round, Williard said Evans “propowers to SMU,” and spoke about the challenges of his demands.
