Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has been linked with a move to Sir Jim Ratcliffe, claiming that the president of Inies is actively “trying to destroy the essence of the football club.
Kantona, a Colt champion in Old Trafford in five years in the 1990s, also revealed that his proposal to support the club’s recovery was rejected by the owner of the new minority.
In his speech at the FC United of Manchester – a club built in 2005 by fans who were hopeless about the ownership of the Glazer-Contona family, he expanded his disappointment in the current direction of United under Ratcliffe.
“Since Ratcliffe reached this team, directors have been trying to destroy everything and they don’t respect anyone,” Kantona said. Barcelona midfielder says they even want to change the stadium.

Since Ratcliff’s investment ended in February 2024, he has brought a wave of structural changes at United, including plans to replace Old Old Aicon with a new 100,000-seat stadium.

Kantona also revealed that he personally reached out to provide assistance in the club’s transitional transition – an offer that he said was neglected.
“I’m taking pictures until the end of October this year. But I told him: ‘I can put that (to one side) and focus and help you rebuild something. And they don’t care about it.
“I don’t ask. But I feel sad that I see United in this kind of situation. So, for me and respect for myself, I had to do it and I did it, and they didn’t care and I don’t care.
“I support United because I really love United, but now if I’m a fan and I have to choose a club I don’t think I’ll choose United because I don’t feel close to such decisions. They have another strategy, another project.
“For me, it’s very important to respect these people like you respect your manager and friends of your team… But I think we may be dreams and they are more economic and strategic. I hate these things.
