When violence erupted in the Syrian coast area recently, including mass killings of civilians allegedly in retaliation for attacking Syrian security forces, volunteers came quickly.
They were part of the Syrian Civil Defense Group known as the white hat, which worked in the civil war in areas under the control of rebels.

The recent violence in Syria was the worst after Ahmed al-Shara, the interim leader of the attacker of the attacker in rebels that overthrow Assad.

Online photos and videos appear to show soldiers who kill civilians, including children, in the beach areas where the Alawite killings were committed.
