
At least four people have been killed and two missing after an explosion in a mine in northern Spain.
The blast occurred at the Serido mine in Digana, estimated, about 450 kilometers (278 miles) northwestern Madrid around 09:30 local time (08:30 BST).
Local aid services said the mine was contacted about “a problem with a device.
At least three others were injured and there is a search for the missing workers. Ambulance, fire and emergency services have been sent to the scene.
The mine rescue brigade has also deployed its dog units.
The injured have been taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
“I wish you a speedy recovery for the injured” He wrote it on X.
