The US Embassy in South Africa said Thursday it had received a list of more than 67,000 people who wanted refugees in the United States, according to President Donald Trump’s plan to move members of a white minority group claiming by their black government.
The list was given to the embassy by the South Africa Chamber of Commerce, which said it became a communications point for white people in South Africa who asked last month about the program announced by the Trump administration. The room said the list would not form an official request.
Trump issued an executive order on February 7 that cut the US budget for South Africa, referring to “the government solution, which the fuel of violence was unstable landowners.
Trump’s executive decree referred to the Africans, a white minority group with a descendant of the colonial population, which first came to South Africa for the first time in the 17th century. The decree sent Marco Rubio and Interior Security Secretary Christie Nom to US Secretary of State for humanitarian aid to African victims of “unjust gender discrimination” and settled in the United States under refugee programs.
In South Africa, there are about 2.7 million Africans, with a population of 62 million. Trump’s decision to present some of South African whites, contrary to his bigger policy, went to suspend US refugee resettlement programs.
The South African government has said Trump’s allegations that target African lands through the law on land are incorrect and move largely because of the wrong information. Trump has reported on his true social platform that Africans have taken over agricultural land, while no land has been taken under the new law.
He also criticized South Africa’s foreign policy, especially the decision to accuse Israel of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza in a case in the UN Supreme Court. The Trump administration has accused South Africa of supporting the Palestinian armed groups Hamas and Iran and taking an anti-US position. The United States has also expelled the South African ambassador, accusing it of being anti-American and anti-Trump.
An official of the US embassy in the South African capital, the US Embassy in the United States, confirmed the receipt of the list of names of the South African Chamber of Commerce in the United States but gave no further details.
Neil Diamond, president of the chamber, said the list contains 67,420 names. Most were people between the ages of 25 and 45 who had children.
“The organization has received more information since Trump’s orders and contacted the US State Department and the Pretoria Embassy “to point out that we would like to provide a channel for South African people who want to get more information and register for the refugee situation.
“It cannot be the responsibility of the room,” he said.
Diamond said only US authorities could officially file housing requests in the United States and the US embassy in South Africa said he was waiting for more instructions to implement Trump’s order.
