Alejandro Domingz, head of the South American Football Board, has officially proposed to expand the 2030 FIFA to include 64 national teams instead of the current 48 national teams.
The proposal was presented on Thursday at the 80th anniversary of the Conmulable Congress and aims to make the 100th anniversary of the tournament a special edition.
FIFA, which is running international football, was previously informed of the proposal when the Uruguayan representative was educated at the FIFA meeting in March.
“We are convinced that the 100th anniversary will be unique because it will be celebrated only once for 100 years,” Domingez said in Congress.
“Therefore, we recommend that for the first time, to do this year with 64 teams, on three continents at the same time.
“This allows all countries to have the opportunity to live world experience and so no one should be left outside the party on the planet.
The 2030 World Cup is expected to be geographically wider, with six hosting nations on three continents.

Uruguay, which hosted the first tournament in 1930, is expected to play one game as part of its 100th anniversary. Other colleagues include Argentina, Paraguay, Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
With the expansion of the tournament, all 10 Country-Members of the Conmmybol, including Venezuela, who have not yet been able to be for the World Cup – may be insurance in the race.
If implemented, the review format will double the number of 64 model games used from 1998 to
Despite the excitement that has come around the Conomybol proposal, not everyone supports the idea. Earlier, EU President Alexander Severin expressed concerns and called the 64th World Cup “a bad idea.
The suspects say such expansion can reduce the level of play and disrupt the importance of the certificate process, especially in traditional competition areas.
