According to FIFA president Gianni Infantino, the UK is set to host the 2035 World Cup as the only presenter for the tournament.
A joint proposal was made in March by England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with the proposal to start the tournament across four domestic nations within 10 years.
FIFA hosting rules call for competition in Europe or Africa for the edition.
Last week, Rafael Luusan, president of the Spanish Football Federation, said Spain was looking for a common proposal with Portugal and Morocco.

“It is a proposal for 2031 in the United States, and some other members of the Concacaf are probably in Europe and the country’s 2035 proposal.
“Therefore, the road is there for the Women’s World Cup in 2031 and 2035 in some major nations and further elevate the women’s football movement.
Mark Bülüngöm, CEO of FA, was happy with the news.
“We are proud to be the only presenter for the 2035 FIFA women’s World Cup. Heavy work starts now to make the best proposal together by the end of the year,” she said.
“We know Euro experience (1222) how big the game is here and what the violence did,” said Sarina Wigman, chairman of the lion coach.
A official proposal should be made this winter, which FIFA is expected to confirm the hosting of the 2026 Congress.
Infantino also revealed that the 2031 Women’s World Cup will be wider to 48 teams, in 32 teams planned for 2027 edition.
If confirmed, the 2035 tournament is the second World Cup in Britain, after the 1966 men’s tournament in England.
